OralMind: AI-Powered Dental Workflow SaaS

Introducing our AI dental platform that helps practitioners catch problems earlier, document faster, and improve case acceptance. Now in pre-launch.

Dentists are drowning. Not in patients — in admin work. Between analyzing X-rays, writing clinical notes, coding insurance claims, and explaining treatment plans, there's barely time left for actual dentistry.

And when you're rushing, small things get missed. Early decay doesn't show up on a quick glance. Bone loss gets documented inconsistently. Insurance codes get guessed. Patients leave confused about why they need treatment.

We built OralMind to fix this.

What is OralMind?

OralMind is an AI-powered dental workflow platform that augments clinical decision-making and automates documentation. Think of it as a second set of eyes that never gets tired — plus a scribe that writes your notes for you.

The platform integrates into existing dental practice workflows and provides three core capabilities:

1. X-Ray Analysis

Upload periapical or bitewing images. OralMind analyzes them using computer vision models trained on dental radiographs. The AI flags:

  • Interproximal caries — Early decay between teeth
  • Bone loss patterns — Signs of periodontal disease
  • Periapical lesions — Infection at root tips
  • Existing restoration issues — Failed fillings, crowns, bridges

The AI doesn't diagnose. It highlights — giving dentists a structured second opinion before they finalize their assessment.

2. Clinical Note Generation

After an exam, OralMind auto-generates clinical notes based on findings. The dentist reviews, edits, and signs off. What used to take 10-15 minutes per patient now takes 2-3.

Notes follow standard dental documentation formats and include:

  • Chief complaint and history
  • Clinical findings by quadrant
  • Periodontal charting summary
  • Treatment recommendations
  • Patient education points

3. Insurance Coding Support

OralMind suggests accurate CDT (Current Dental Terminology) codes based on documented findings. This reduces claim denials and ensures practices get paid for the work they do.

Common coding errors — like using a prophylaxis code when periodontal maintenance is indicated — get flagged before submission.

Why AI in Dentistry?

Because early detection changes outcomes. A cavity caught at the enamel stage needs a small filling. Wait until it hits dentin, and you're looking at a crown. Miss it entirely, and it's a root canal or extraction.

AI doesn't replace dentists. It augments them. The technology gives practitioners:

  • Consistency — Every X-ray gets the same systematic review
  • Speed — Documentation happens in seconds, not minutes
  • Confidence — Second opinions reduce uncertainty
  • Case acceptance — Visual AI findings help patients understand why treatment matters

Studies show that patients accept treatment more often when they can see the problem — not just hear about it. AI-assisted imaging makes that possible.

Current Status: Pre-Launch

OralMind is in active development. We're working with dental partners to test the workflow and refine the models before broad release.

What's built:

  • X-ray image ingestion and preprocessing pipeline
  • Computer vision models for caries and bone loss detection
  • Clinical note generation from structured findings
  • CDT code suggestion engine
  • Basic practitioner dashboard for review and sign-off

What's next:

  • Integration with major dental practice management software
  • HIPAA-compliant cloud infrastructure certification
  • Expanded model training on diverse radiograph datasets
  • Patient-facing visualizations for case presentation

Beta launch is targeted for Q2 2026. We're onboarding a limited cohort of practices who want to test the workflow and provide feedback.

Who Should Consider OralMind?

OralMind is built for:

  • General dentists who want to catch more early decay and document faster
  • Specialists (endo, perio, oral surgery) who need precise lesion mapping and referral notes
  • DSOs looking to standardize clinical documentation across locations
  • Dental schools training the next generation on AI-assisted diagnosis

If you're spending more time typing than treating, or if you've ever missed something on an X-ray that you caught in hindsight — this is for you.

The Vision

We're not building AI to replace dentists. We're building AI to make dentists better at what they do.

The future of dentistry isn't human vs. machine. It's human with machine — where technology handles the repetitive work (documentation, coding, initial image screening) so clinicians can focus on what matters: patient care.

That's what OralMind is about. Less admin. Better outcomes. More time for dentistry.
